In his farest origins, the village of LOUBAJAC was named as "LUDUX".
Just as we can read it in the historical cartulary of
"Saint-Pé-de-Bigorre" (year 1077).
His geographic position, in the plain of the "Ousse" river, gave to it an other name : "LOU BAJAR", it means "the big vase". It seems that it has given the present name : LOUBAJAC. We are sure that the bell-tower of the church is an old tower of the ancient castle (50 feets in height and 27 feets of diametre).
A Lord would ask to be under the protection of the King of France, that's why
there is a "Lys flower" other his escutcheon. This royal mark is on the top of
the armorial bearings, under the castle and other the main sky-blue we can see two crows.
The crow is the regional sign of this area called "Lavedan".
